i've been riding my bike aleast 4 times a week for a year Review by stefs3balleffect
my daily commute is about 19 miles. through suburbs and DC traffic on sidewalks and main streets i travel on my tuono, from home. though the bike has been in the LBS on some ocassions for tune ups and parts, i would not trade it for any other bike. the LBS staff couldn't believe the milage i've put on my bike and said "i must use it like a car"....so there are some higher end cycles out there, but i am very pleased and impressed with my vilano for under $300. its a great bike, i even purchased one for my wife and i will be purcahsing a vilano comfort/cummuter for my daily treks, very soon !!!! 2011 Vilano Tuono Review by luigi
It was the third of July at Riverscape hub in Dayton Ohio I saw this bike and thought $2500 bike. I went home and checked the net on July 4 for Vilano bikes on Google. RoadBike outlet came up and I dialed in and was illuminated! I wanted at least an aluminum frame bike since my newest road bike is a 1985. Could not believe the bike for my 55 yr old body. Was riding 53-39 gear Campy Benotto triathlon bike, real oldskool. I needed something fast and with an affordable price. Bought in a hearbeat on the 4th of July! Not the best or worst, I changed front wheel to Ritchey 20 spoke and a Kinesis carbon fork with a Cane Creek 40 cartridge bearing headset and tour de france 23 cm road race tires so I could ride like Lance! Buy with confidence but tweek the machine with finesse! Great deal with 2 wheels! Ciao! (Posted on 8/27/11)

Excellent Bike Review by bob1sh
I was looking for an entry level road bike but didn't even want to spend $600, this was my alternative and I couldn't be happier, everything is upgradeable.
I purchased the bike and the clipless peddles, $310 shipped to the house, after $60 tune up at the LBS I've still spent $200+ less then their entry level road bike.
If you can get over the shifters , everything about this bike is more than what I was hoping for. Just received my red Tuono in the mail, ordered it online Saturday and it was here on Tuesday. The frame is is beautiful in person, its very simple. Going to the shop for a fitment and tune up tomorrow. Want to say thanks to roadbikeoutlet for a great product and fast / free shipping! Great bike for the $$$$ Review by Jake
Just received my vilano, took it down to my lbs to get it set up, it's a really good looking bike and works great! But if you don't know much about putting bikes together don't try and do it yourself because it needs a few adjustments from the factory, but overall I give the bike a 10 for the price! Worth a bit of trouble to import to Canada Review by Bert
I ordered this bike to get back on wheels after riding and hybrid for years. I did order international order and had to pick it up at UPS and clear all duties by myself but the trouble of clearing it and assembling it worths it all. Light, cheap and enjoyable bicycle to ride. Delivered as is with no surprises within 4 days of purchasing.I ordered from Montreal, Canada and the Roadbikeoutlet is a company that could be trusted. I would encourage any Canadian of purchasing a Vilano or other merchandise from this merchant for it price quality ratio.

very happy with purchase Review by csewell
I ordered on Sunday July 31 and got the bike the following Wednesday (Aug. 3). It was a long day at work knowing that my package was sitting on my front porch. (I live between 2 retired military families so there was no concern of theft). I'm a "do-it-yourself-er" and upon opening the package I thought "assembly will be a snap". I was afraid I was going to have to pack bearings, install crank-arms, and other tasks but was pleasantly surprised to find that was not the case. If you have any mechanical abilities, assembly should not be a problem for you. As a matter of fact, I think the money RBO is charging for "pro install" is over priced as it only took me about an hour to put it all together.
The Rims: The strips that come stock are not sufficient. The inside of the double-walled rims are sharp where the spokes go through, so they sent me a second set of rim strips to replace the stock ones. Being concerned I took it to the LBS and had them check out the rims, which is where I found out about the sharp points inside the rim. I couldn't tell the difference between the stock strips and the replacements. The LBS recommended to go with cloth tape. Since it was a whopping $2.00 more I said yes. They did not need to be trued either.
Finally after getting everything dialed in, I went on my first ride. It went very smooth and fast. I rode in a hilly area and on some of the downhills, I was going fast enough to water my eyes.
My recommendation is to put the bike together your self. It never hurts to know your bike, especially in case of a break down. The internet has tons of info on fine-tuning those scary parts, and the best thing is... it's hard to mess something up. Unless you absolutely break it, your LBS should be able to undo your mess and help you in not making the same mistake.
To summarize, I think the bike is great for its price. If I could change one thing, I would go with Down-Tube shifters as the stock shift system. (I hope you're listening RBO!) They'er not that expensive and much easier to use. The bike is fast and feels solid. Assembly was easy after following the you-tube videos but not worth the extra money unless you just don't feel like dealing with it as tuning can be annoying at times.
I would definitely recommend this bike. (Posted on 8/6/11) -
Great bike - great value! Review by Emily
I just bought this bike about 3 weeks ago, and I'm already in love! The frame is light, and the bike is a smooth, comfortable ride. Chose to have the bike put together professionally, which was likely a good idea, as the wheels needed to be trued and there were a few minor adjustments that needed attending to. My only real complaint is that the style of gear-shift is not my favorite, so I think next up on the to-do list is to replace the gearshift with integrated style shifters. Overall, this bike can't be beat for its value! (Posted on 7/28/11)
